It brings the following changes and improvements:

• 'Back to default module' navigation – When you enter a box for the first time, if you go to Box Configuration, the navigation button lets you navigate to the default module.
• Informative tooltips – a floating tooltip on a status column now shows the aggregate data information. While setting a new marker, a helpful tooltip will now show the currently selected date.
• New welcome screen – first-time users will be greeted by a more visual, personalized welcome screen showcasing the value of Gantt and Resources modules.

Version 8.31 of BigPicture has just gone live!

It brings the following changes and improvements:

• Improvements to markers – A new tooltip displays the current date when adding a new marker. This tooltip is visible even in zoomed-out views of the Gantt chart. Additionally, users can now simply double-click on a marker to start editing it.
• End date during box creation – The end date field automatically shows a suggested value (current date) to simplify the box creation process.
• Default task order – when the user clicks the sorting icon on any column name, the initial sorting order is ascending. A second click will sort the rows in descending order.

• Baseline permissions – users can now restrict baseline creation, editing, and deletion to box admins, preventing any unauthorized changes. This ensures the integrity of the base plan, which is crucial for maintaining project credibility and adhering to formal approval processes.
• Improvements to perfect match – when all members of the team are equally capable of handling a certain task, the “Find the perfect match“ feature can now propose up to 5 suggestions.

It brings the following changes and improvements:

• More prominent inline editing fields – following extensive testing, we are now rolling out the new design for inline editable fields to all our users. Enhancements include clearer indication when hovering over a field with a cursor, and a distinct grey background that is more in line with Jira.
• Improved taskbar colors – parent task colors are now more distinguishable when collapsed, making it easier to distinguish their status. The colors of milestones have also been adjusted for better visibility and contrast.
• Resources sample data – under the sample data menu, users can now find a new checkbox called “Resource management”. Selecting this checkbox will create a sample box pre-filled with demo tasks and resources, allowing anyone new to the module to evaluate all its capabilities.

It brings the following changes and improvements:

• The order of tasks added to a box mirrors Jira: The new update significantly improves the process of setting up new boxes. Notably, the update ensures that projects added to boxes maintain the same task order as in the Jira backlog. This is crucial, as the order of the tasks often reflects task priority. The order of existing box tasks is not affected. Aligning task sequences will minimize any confusion and result in a smoother overall experience when creating new boxes in BigPicture.

Version 8.26 of BigPicture has just gone live!

It brings the following changes and improvements:

• Work with columns with ease. In Gantt and Scope Modules, you can now automatically adjust the column width to optimize content visibility. Simply double-click on the right edge of a column header, and the width of the column will adjust to fit the content. This also works on empty columns – a double click will narrow them down to minimum width, helping you optimize workspace.

It brings the following changes and improvements:

• Control visibility of the BigTemplate widget. You can now decide whether you want the widget active for all or only selected Jira projects. This should help with any performance-related issues in scenarios when the widget is enabled in heavy-traffic projects.
• Faster way to reorganize tasks in the backlog. Instead of having to manually drag and drop a task (or multiple tasks) in the board’s backlog, you can now reposition tasks more efficiently via the right-click menu. This is especially handy if you have lots of tasks in the backlog, and need to quickly move certain tasks to the very top.

Version 8.24 of BigPicture has just gone live! It brings the following changes and improvements:

• More flexibility in JCMA-supported migrations. You can choose whether to migrate all your data and projects at once (available when the destination Jira Cloud instance includes no projects yet) or to migrate only some items
• Importing tasks from a file is simpler and more accessible. You don’t need to be a Jira admin to do so. If you are a BP Box admin and you have full access to the Jira project in which the tasks you have on file are supposed to reside, you are free to import them
• No more accidental column view changes visible to all users. The Box admin can now manipulate column views of the WBS Widget, Board backlog, and the Risks module, and the changes won’t become visible to other users until the admin “Saves them for all users”

Version 8.23 of BigPicture has just gone live!

• Task scheduling warnings in the Calendar module – Whenever task dates cannot be changed in the Calendar (e.g. if the task is in a locked mode), BigPicture will now display a warning message with an explanation.
• Home (root) box dates cannot be changed on the timeline – The home (root) box is now presented as an item on the timeline. This item is not moveable as the dates are set automatically and are not editable by users or admins.
• Improvements to workload contouring in the Resources module – Workload contouring allows you to specify how the effort of an assignee is distributed across a task period. Before the update, if workload contouring is set to “Front-loaded” or “Back-loaded”, the workload distribution of a task may vary across the boxes. With this update, workload distribution stays the same.

Version 8.22 of BigPicture has just gone live!

• Horizontal scroll added to column view – With this update, you can easily scroll through the Gantt chart and columns. This provides the flexibility to add as many columns as you want, as wide as you want, without sacrificing the overall readability of the Gantt and Scope modules.

  But there’s more. You can also pin multiple columns in either direction to keep the context of your work. For example, pin the Summary column on the left side of the tables, then move effortlessly through the rest of the columns. Hold shift + use the mouse wheel to scroll. Happy scrolling!

• Tooltip explains why action is not possible – When clicking on “More options” (the ellipsis icon) in the Overview module, tooltip provides more actionable messages why certain action can’t be performed, with a clear recommendation how to solve the problem.

• For a more seamless workflow, we've implemented a handy shortcut for you to jump to the Resource module directly from the Gannt module. You can find the 'Switch to Resources' button just under the timeline view.
• A marker counter has been added to the timeline view. Markers are a handy way to highlight important dates that call for special attention. Now, if there is more than one marker assigned to a single day, a counter will display the exact number of markers, thus eliminating the need for extra clicks to investigate.
• No more disappearing projects or work items due to auto-archiving! With this update, the auto-archive function will no longer apply to any boxes (e.g. placeholder projects) that users intentionally created ahead of time.

Version 8.19 of BigPicture has just gone live!

• Now, you can plan work items (e.g. tasks) without interfering with your organization’s processes and communicate uncertain timelines with greater clarity. That’s because, from version 8.19 on, work items are created in BigPicture without defined start and end dates.
• Upgrading BigPicture to version 8.19 will allow you to streamline and speed up your task allocation planning sessions as we are introducing the new, built-in Team field. The new built-in Team field is filled out by the system automatically - based on the task assignee’s team membership. As a result, you can add the Team column to your Gantt WBS or Scope and instantly see what teams are assigned to specific tasks, as well as in-line edit the field whenever needed.

• Inline editing of data type labels - You can use inline editing to add/ remove/ edit value of a lables field.
• Task grouping in the Scope module is available to Box Viewer and Box Editor - not just the Admin.
• The "Select" data type is available for custom Box columns in the Overview module.
• The duration of a task (duration of working days) is respected by tasks in a manual mode. Non-working days are taken into account when rescheduling a task.
